Teaching Overseas

Want to see the world while you work? Join the military.
What to see the world while you work and give someone a skill that will change their life? Become a teacher.

That look on the kids’ faces when they run into class to tell you about their day. The thrill from watching a student gain confidence in their ability. Looking at your students’ progress with pride. Language teaching is one of the most rewarding career choices out there.

Language is a gift for life and you have the chance of a lifetime to give on a daily basis. Not only do foreign language skills open the proverbial professional doors or assist you greatly in appreciating travel experiences but there are some other notable doors that can be nudged ajar. Most notably, romantic ones.

I, myself, am a product of a romantic door being barged open. I have an international ancestry that crosses Poland and the United Kingdom. My own extension of this was to begin learning Korean half the globe away in Australia where I was lucky enough to expand international borders through meeting my Korean wife. If it weren’t for language teachers I wouldn’t be here today and nor would my son.

How can you argue with those doors?

If you think you have it inside yourself to offer this kind of amazing gift to countless people, think about your choices in life. It doesn’t take much on a formal level to choose this career path and the job opportunities are countless and widespread – Korea, Japan, China, SE Asia, Middle East, Africa, South America… basically anywhere!

Obviously, you need some qualifications and the basic requirements are that you’re a fluent English speaker with native like pronunciation, but depending on the country there may be more stringent guidelines; CELTA certification, Bachelors degree or even a Masters degree.

So take the plunge and lead a rewarding lifestyle that has the ability to make you smile and feel warm inside on a daily basis.
